Bend’s premier literary event, Nature of the Words is back! Scheduled November 7-10 at the Tower Theatre, this unique event offers renowned guest authors from genres of fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction and young adult fiction in readings, workshops, lectures and receptions. It’s close to the opening of ski season in Central Oregon and Warren Miller’s ski film, “Ticket to Ride” is the perfect ski film to get you in the mood to shred. Showing November 15 and 16 at the Tower Theatre, the film features the Alaskan Tordrillos, Iceland’s Troll Peninsula, fjords of Greenland and Big Sky country of Montana. Thanksgiving is a great time to visit Bend, Oregon. If you are a runner, sign up for the Footzone’s “I Like Pie” run taking place on Thanksgiving Day November 28 starting at 9 a.m. in front of Crows Feet Commons.
