Soup & Snowshoes: An Unforgettable Winter Evening in Bend
Believe it or not, one of the most unique ways to experience winter in Bend involves soup & snowshoes this winter. Join Wanderlust Tours on Saturday, January 24, 2026 for an incredible guided snowshoe hike through the wintery landscape, culminating in a cozy dinner of homemade soups, bread, and chili on the mountainside.
Beginning the evening with transportation from Bend to a forested winter lasdscape in the areas around Mt. Bachelor and the surrounding Deschutes National Forest of the Cascade Mountain Range of Oregon, guests are outfitted with snowshoes and headlamps and gear before heading out on a guided walk through the woods. The route and pace are designed for snow shoers of all experience levels, including first-timers! Along the way, a naturalist guide provides context about the local landscape, winter conditions, and Central Oregon ecology.
After snowshoing up the trail, the group arrives at a forest clearing to a bonfire and dinner the chefs from Luckey's Woodsman preparing a fresh communal meal. The meal features multiple hearty soups served with fresh bread, followed by hot cocoa and dessert. Everything is prepared on site, allowing guests to relax, warm up, and share an unforgettable winter meal. The overall experience lasts about five hours and includes snowshoes, guides, transportation, and dinner... and the memories will last forever.
